Rajesh Cheruku Reddy ("Raj") was born on April 30th, 1992 to Dr. Keshava and Bharathi Reddy in New York. At the age of one he and his parents moved to Texas. As a young boy, Raj enjoyed playing Pokémon cards, Video games, reading Comic books, swimming and watching TV shows including sports.
Raj attended All Saints Episcopal School in Beaumont, Texas and later attended Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School. Over the course of his adolescent years, he competed and succeeded in many academic competitions, ranging from 1st place to 3rd place. Raj spent his Summers participating in educational programs at different Universities (Northwestern, Stanford and Columbia). While in high school, he was Vice President of Student Council, Treasurer of National Honor Society, President of Mu Alpa Theta, and a Captain of the Quiz Bowl Team. He graduated in 2010 as the class Salutatorian and a National Merit Scholar.
Outside of school, Raj continued to have many different interests. He enjoyed playing basketball and tennis, and loved all genres of music (well every genre except country). He developed his interest in the business world during his high school years by monitoring the markets, reading about companies, and discovering how global macroeconomic issues are tied to market prices. Given this interest, his love of sports, and a passion for community, Raj elected to attend a school that combined all of these passions: The Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. As a student at Michigan, Raj was very active in a wide array of Ross Business clubs. Through dedication and hours of hard work, Raj was able to garner summer internships at Morgan Stanley, Raymond James, and JP Morgan during his four years of college. At the close of his Junior year internship with JP Morgan's Private Wealth Management, Raj accepted a full time offer to join the group as an Analyst after graduation in 2014.
If you didn’t know Raj by name, you knew by his smile, his dedication, and most importantly his selflessness. Raj was always known to lend a helping hand if you needed one. To his fellow classmates at Michigan, Raj was the Big Friendly Giant. To his JP Morgan family, he had a similar reputation, and was one of the most eager and lovable analysts in his class. To everyone, Raj was a happy individual with a bright future.
To continue his legacy we started this foundation to provide educational scholarships to qualified students who may require financial assistance to fulfill their dreams. In addition to its core purpose of providing educational support, the Raj Charitable Foundation is also aiding other meaningful causes, such as the Sankara Eye Foundation and local food banks in Southeast Texas.
